Wow, two weeks already. Thao was running on fumes for a few days but is starting to get settled into a schedule and Cory started back to work this week so neither of us is feeling great but both are making it work. Luckily Thao’s mom is here to help out for a few more weeks. And we have already had Cory’s mom here. And one of Thao’s sisters and dad will be here soon, plus another sister, and then after a little gap, another sister. For as far away as we live, we are actually getting a very much needed bit of help with things. In all honesty, this was really a calm-ish week for us; we were both trying to figure out what is the new “normal schedule” and it is going generally ok. Half Calf is actually quiet, not very fussy and sleeps for most of the night which is helping a LOT.
Half Calf has also ventured out a few times; to the store, to Cory’s work, a Costco run, as well as a walk around Westchester Lagoon with Thao and Grandma. So slowly but surely we are getting back into “normal things” for us as well.
Also, this kid who already has too many names was given a new one that has to be shared. Cory’s sister relayed this message from Drew, her 16 year old.
“Drew is concerned. I just told him that you are calling him ‘Adrian Alexander’ and he said ‘Mom, don’t let them do that!. The kid is just going to get bullied in school. How about they name him Thomas and we just call him Tom. That’s a good name. Seriously Mom. You have to make them aware of that!'”
So I guess we will add Tom to his list of many names. Adrian Alexander, Adrian (in spite of our attempts to avoid the shorter version), Half Calf, Little Dude, and now Tom.

Now for the part you have all been waiting for…
Okay the second week of Half Calf’s life is really cute!
I like mom’s quizzical look when she was using the pouch shirt and mom passed out on the couch.
So happy for you !!!
Absolutely adorable, though my favorite is him “contemplating life”. Enjoy; he’ll be growing up way too quickly.
